What is the Core Values Index?

Every person is wired with a unique way of thinking, deciding, and creating value.

The Core Values Index™ (CVI) measures that hardwiring — the part of you that never changes and can’t be faked.

Through Hardwiring Coaching’s Certified CVI Coaching, we help individuals, teams, and organizations unlock that design to create clarity, stronger communication, and measurable growth.

Why The CVI Matters

Most assessments measure behavior or personality.

The CVI reveals motivation at the core — how you naturally engage the world and what energizes or drains you.

Whether in the workplace, at home, or in relationships, understanding your hardwiring changes everything.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Communicate the way others listen

  • Recognize and manage conflict before it escalates

  • Build trust and unity in teams, marriages, and friendships

  • Align roles and responsibilities to real strengths

  • Increase energy and purpose in everyday decisions

Where CVI
Coaching Works:

  • In any organization, performance depends on understanding people. CVI Coaching helps teams build stronger communication, reduce friction, and align leadership around their natural strengths. By uncovering how each person is wired to create value, we help companies place the right people in the right roles, build trust across departments, and establish clarity that drives measurable results. Teams that use CVI coaching not only work better — they think, decide, and execute with shared understanding.

  • When couples understand how each person is wired, conflict becomes less personal and connection becomes deeper. CVI Coaching brings clarity to why you each communicate, decide, and react the way you do — and how to love one another accordingly. Many couples discover that what once caused frustration was simply a difference in design. This insight allows for real empathy, forgiveness, and unity, helping marriages thrive through every season.

  • CVI Coaching gives people language for understanding one another’s differences. It helps friends recognize what drives each other, why they think the way they do, and how to support one another through change or conflict. By learning to see beyond behavior to the deeper hardwiring underneath, friendships gain honesty, patience, and resilience — the kind that lasts when life gets difficult.

  • In ministry settings, the Core Values Index™ helps pastors, elders, and ministry teams understand how they and others are designed to serve. Many leaders find that their wiring influences how they interpret Scripture, lead people, and make decisions — sometimes even in ways that conflict with biblical truth if left unchecked. CVI Coaching helps church leaders align their God-given design with the authority of Scripture, strengthening humility, unity, and discernment in leadership. It also equips congregations to serve where they are most effective and fulfilled.

  • CVI Coaching is increasingly being used in high-stakes family and legal contexts to bring clarity and compassion to complex human situations. By helping professionals, parents, and evaluators understand each person’s hardwiring, CVI insights reduce bias, improve communication, and promote fair, informed decision-making. For parents, it builds self-awareness and emotional regulation under stress. For agencies, it supports caseworkers and teams in understanding dynamics that data alone can’t explain — creating space for empathy, accountability, and better outcomes for families.

  • Personal clarity changes everything. CVI Coaching helps individuals understand why they think, feel, and respond the way they do — revealing patterns that explain motivation, conflict, and energy. When people see their design clearly, they can make better decisions, restore balance, and live with purpose. Whether you’re pursuing career direction, emotional healing, or relational growth, CVI Coaching provides a framework for thriving authentically and sustainably.

  • CVI Coaching works anywhere human relationships exist — because every decision, conflict, and breakthrough starts with how people are wired. Whether it’s in a boardroom, a home, a church, or a courtroom, the Core Values Index™ gives language to what’s often misunderstood and unseen. Wherever there are people, there’s a design worth understanding — and a path toward greater clarity, empathy, and alignment.

Our CVI Coaching Process

Step 1: Assess & Discover

Every participant begins with the Core Values Index™ assessment — the most reliable tool for understanding how people are wired to think, decide, and create value.

Each person receives a personalized report and an introductory one-on-one debrief with a certified CVI Coach to unpack what their results reveal.

Step 2: Interpret & Apply

We go beyond reading a report. During your session, we identify how your wiring shows up in daily life — how you communicate, respond under stress, and make decisions.

For couples, this means understanding how each person listens and loves differently.

For churches and teams, it means learning how leadership styles and callings interact — and where friction may be more about wiring than will.

For businesses, it means connecting people’s strengths to the work that fits them best.

Step 3: Train & Equip

We offer live trainings (virtual or on-site) for groups of any size:

  • Team & Leadership Workshops: build trust, reduce conflict, and improve collaboration.

  • Church & Ministry Trainings: align leadership, strengthen unity, and ensure wiring supports biblical direction rather than competing with it.

  • Marriage & Family Coaching: improve communication and resolve recurring conflicts with understanding and grace.

  • Organizational Training: for corporations, nonprofits, and agencies including family courts and CPS, to help teams operate with empathy, accountability, and clarity.

Step 4: Coach & Integrate

Transformation takes practice. That’s why we provide ongoing coaching — individually or collectively — to help apply CVI insights in real-life settings.

We meet with individuals, couples, or entire teams to address challenges, navigate transitions, and reinforce alignment.

In workplace or leadership settings, we also work directly with C-suite executives to use CVI data to restructure workflows, guide decision-making, and resolve interpersonal tension.

In family and ministry contexts, we help restore relationships, clarify roles, and build lasting understanding.

Step 5: Sustain & Grow

We go beyond reading a report. During your session, we identify how your wiring shows up in daily life — how you communicate, respond under stress, and make decisions.

For couples, this means understanding how each person listens and loves differently.

For churches and teams, it means learning how leadership styles and callings interact — and where friction may be more about wiring than will.

For businesses, it means connecting people’s strengths to the work that fits them best.

Wherever there are people, CVI Coaching helps them understand each other, communicate better, and grow together.

Core Values Index™ Q&A

  • The Core Values Index™ (CVI) is a psychometric assessment that measures how you are hardwired to create value in the world. Unlike personality tests that shift over time, the CVI reveals the unchanging motivations that drive your decisions, relationships, and performance.

  • The CVI assessment is a brief, highly accurate tool (about 7–10 minutes) that identifies your innate pattern of thought, decision-making, and contribution. It’s used by businesses, teams, couples, and individuals to improve communication, hiring, leadership, and self-awareness.

  • Every person’s CVI profile is built from four core energies:

    1. Builder – Power: acts decisively and leads through action.

    2. Merchant – Love: connects through relationships and vision.

    3. Innovator – Wisdom: solves problems through logic and insight.

    4. Banker – Knowledge: protects, researches, and preserves what works.

Most people lead with two dominant values that shape how they engage life and work.

  • Personality tests measure behavior that can change with time or environment. The CVI measures core motivation — the “why” behind your behavior. Because it maps your innate design, it remains consistent throughout life, with a proven repeat reliability of 97.7%.

  • CVI stands for Core Values Index™, a proprietary assessment developed by Taylor Protocols and expanded through Hardwired Coaching to help people and organizations apply it to leadership, hiring, conflict resolution, and personal growth.

  • The CVI identifies four value energies, but people express them in combinations that form unique patterns such as:

    • Builder/Merchant

    • Innovator/Banker

    • Merchant/Innovator

    • Banker/Builder

Each combination reveals how someone naturally leads, learns, and collaborates.

  • Your personalized CVI report explains your top core values, how they interact, your strengths, conflict tendencies, and ideal work environments. It also includes practical tips for communication, relationships, and growth strategies based on your wiring.

  • Take the official Core Values Index™ assessment through AdaptExec’s certified CVI coaches. You’ll instantly receive your results and can schedule a one-on-one debrief to interpret your scores and learn how to apply them at work, home, or in relationships.

  • The CVI is the most reliable psychometric assessment ever tested, showing a 97.7% repeat reliability — meaning nearly everyone gets the same result, even years later. It measures what does not change in a person: their innate motivational design.

  • Absolutely. When couples or friends understand each other’s wiring, they can communicate with empathy and respond to conflict without taking it personally. Many families use the CVI to improve understanding, strengthen connection, and restore trust.

  • Businesses use the CVI to:

    • Hire and place the right people in the right roles

    • Improve team collaboration and leadership

    • Resolve internal conflict and burnout

    • Build cultures of trust, accountability, and performance

  • The CVI was developed by Taylor Protocols and refined through years of application across industries. Hardwired Coaching and AdaptExec now bring its insights to individuals, teams, and organizations nationwide.

  • CVI Coaching doesn’t stop at self-discovery. It applies your results to real situations — how you lead, decide, relate, and solve problems. Whether in your company, marriage, or friendships, it transforms understanding into growth.
